I was very fortunate to have two articles published in February 2012’s edition of Adobe Inspire, which is sent out to millions of subscribers every two months. This article was the first in a series of HTML5 related articles that I will be writing throughout 2012 for Adobe Inspire, that will look at HTML5 from all angles. In this article, I discuss how HTML5 is changing the landscape of software-based mobile “apps”, as well as desktop applications. HTML5 is causing a slow migration from the confines of the app-store ecosystems and giving control back to the publishers of these new high performance web-based apps and cloud-based applications for the desktop and mobile.
